I moved to Burlington from South Dakota on New Years Day 1990 and started making art. My work has been shown in many regional venues, but took a significant turn after creating a new show in 24 hours for my friends at Mirabelles in Burlington. That was November of 2007. This effort was the beginning of my work in wood. Since that time Ive been scavenging, carving, painting, hammering and experimenting with various techniques, subject matters & finishes. I simply love everything about the process. My work is most commonly defined as "modern folk art".
My growth as an artist has been in never knowing how a new piece of wood will carve. The meditative nature of working with wood and the flexibility required has helped me grow as an artist, mother, partner & friend.
Thank you for visiting my site. Please contact me with any questions or comments. I have begun doing more site specific work. I will do carvings on doors, tables or chairs. Please contact me for further information.
