My WPA Project
In the fall of 2008 when our country was in the midst of tremendous economic stress this series started emerging. As the pieces were being created I realized that they were a desire I had to return to a simpler time. I am old enough now to think about the good ole’ days of hard work, saving money, simple pleasures and gathering with friends and family...the stuff that makes life worth getting out of bed in the morning.

I named this series my WPA Project out of tremendous respect for what President Roosevelt did in the 1930s to provide employment for artists. I guess I should’ve titled the show FAP which was Roosevelt’s “Federal Art Project” (just not as widely recognized as WPA-(Works Project Administration). With the Federal Art Project, Roosevelt created over 5,000 jobs for artists and produced over 225,000 works of art for Americans to enjoy. This series is sold. However, I can create any of these images for you and you can then specify the colors.
