New York City—October 2015

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Growing up in South Dakota, New York City seemed like going to the moon.  I’m wowed every time.  It’s always those little moments that stay with me.  I don’t want to live there, but I sure LOVE three days.

I still teach American History online and part-time for Hudson Valley Community College, Troy, New York. I'm particularly interested in documentary photography. I photograph with a Canon 70D and Tamron 16-300mm lens. I continue to travel the world with my wife, Jane Ingram Allen. She is an artist, blogger, critic and curator. I normally take photos of her projects that she curates. My work has appeared in a number of art magazines and a book entitled Made In Taiwan by Jane Ingram Allen. I had a one person exhibition at Hsuiping University in 2008, entitled Tanzania and Taiwan: A view of Two Countries from One Pair of Eyes.

A nice series. I particularly like the mirror image. It has a simplicity but a power.

    • Lisa Lillibridge/Dakota 1966 – I grew up roaming and scavenging the plains of southern South Dakota. That childhood landscape instilled a desire for spaciousness that's stayed with me into adulthood. My work often reflects these themes.

Thank you. I love to shoot the micro type of scenes because the camera, no matter how good it is can’t capture what my eye can. I appreciate you taking a look. My next post will be playing with one of the images I didn’t include.

You’re welcome. So true about the human eye/brain combination. The camera catches all.
