Don’t Die Wondering

While my husband and I were at a park a few years ago we saw a young boy (about 5) walk up to a group of kids he didn’t know and say, “I don’t know if you guys want to play with me?”. I was so struck at the time at how utterly brave and confident this young boy was. The potential of his vulnerability could be a fun day at the park and and the downside seemed worth the social risk.

We can all learn a lot from this simple exchange. Great opportunity comes from risk. Not fear.

I saw on the t-shirt of a skate boarder in Wellington, New Zealand in 1988 these simple words, “Don’t Die Wondering”. Get out there in 2014!
