If the stars should appear but one night every thousand years how man would marvel and adore. —Ralph Waldo Emerson

One touch of nature makes the whole world kin. —William Shakespeare

I came upon the seals still snoozing this morning. When sleeping in the water, they can float as in a standing position, similar to a fishing bobber. This is called “bottling”. I waited for them to start their day. You can hear them in the audio file below. I love them so.

early morning light…

Light breaks where no sun shines;
Where no sea runs, the waters of the heart
Push in their tides
—Dylan Thomas/Light breaks where no sun shines

afternoon light…

Summer afternoon, summer afternoon; to me those have always been the two most beautiful words in the English language—Henry James

evening light…

night light…

To thine own self be true, and it must follow, as the night the day, thou canst not then be false to any man. —William Shakespeare
